The Central North Carolina Council will be hosting its annual Spring Webelos Woods at Camp John J. Barnhardt on March 5 - 7, 2010.  This event
allows Webelos to camp, cook, and participate in a variety of outdoor activities as a den and will serve as preparation for their promotion into the
ranks of Boy Scouting.  Program highlights will include shooting sports, climbing and bouldering, first aid, fire building, compass orienteering, and
know tying.  All of this will be topped off with a special campfire on Saturday evening that will include a solemn ceremony to welcome them into the
ranks of Boy Scouting.

Webelos Dens will be assigned to campsites to set up their tents and cooking areas.  In order for Webelos to practice their cooking skills, each den
will be responsible for cooking their own meals throughout the weekend:  Friday dinner, Saturday breakfast, lunch & dinner, and Sunday breakfast.
All food and cookware will need to be provided by Webelos leaders.  This weekend of outdoor activities and instruction will encourage your 2nd year
webelos to progress in Scouting and will increase the interest and retention of your 1st year Webelos to continue on with their advancement.

The cost will be $20.00 per person, which includes a patch and program materials.  Registration is by Den only for Webelos, Den leaders, and
interested adults.  There must be one adult for every four youth and two-deep leadership at all times.  This event is limited to current 1st and 2nd
year Webelos and to the first 250 participants signed up.  The deadline for registration is February 19th.  Registration is on a first come, first serve
basis.
