The quality of Scouting depends on the men and women who wear the Commissioner Wreath of
Service.  The College of Commissioner Science is a one-day training course for all commissioners.

The Central N.C. Council and Mecklenburg County Council provide a quality staff
of experienced commissioners to assure objectives are met during this training.  Upon completion
of the course, the following objectives should be clearly understood:

  • Unit Service:  What does it really mean?

  • The role of a commissioner

  • Problem solving

  • Resources and where to find them

The programs of the Boy Scouts of America continue to evolve to better serve millions of youth
participants annually.  Despite this evolution, one constant remains:  The values that have been
instilled in over 100 million youth for the past 98 years.

Commissioners service will continue to provide the quality assurance necessary for our growing
programs.  Trained commissioners are the key to the quality program that will instill core
values in millions more youth in the future.

Registration must be in the council office by January 13, 2010.  The fee is $17 per person.  This fee
includes lunch, patch, certificate and materials.  After January 13 the fee is $22.  We must guarantee a
specific number for lunch, so please register prior to January 13.
