| 2007 Fishing Derby September 29th was the perfect day to go fishing, and that’s probably why so many Cub Scouts and their families came out to enjoy a special event called “Casting for Cubs” at the Salisbury Community Park. The event was a huge success for all Cub Scouts, some with prior Scouting experience and others brand new to the program. All of those in attendance were given the opportunity to learn about fishing laws and regulations, fish identification, and fishing techniques. The boys also helped out their community by bringing canned goods to be delivered to Rowan Helping Ministries for those less fortunate. A very special thank- you goes out to Stephen Brown who did a spectacular job in preparing for and leading this event. In addition to Stephen, Jody McManus, Donna Redmond, Jimmy Redmond, and many other volunteers and wildlife experts truly made this day one that will be remembered by these young men and their families for many years!! |
