ROWAN DISTRICT
CENTRAL NORTH CAROLINA COUNCIL
The re-charter season is here, and it is EXTREMELY IMPORTANT for all units to submit this paperwork in a timely fashion.  Re-chartering
on time ensures all of your leaders have renewed membership, new members are properly registered, and the tenure of your unit is properly
preserved. The process to re-charter is simple, and can be explained at any time by your District Executive.  Everyone should have a copy
of their paper charter at this time, but are highly encouraged to complete their charter online this year.  All questions can be answered by
contacting your District Executive Joe Moran at 704-798-7378 or the District Commissioner Thomas Griffin at 704-433-7075.
UNIT RE-CHARTER
INTERNET RECHARTERING
Here’s how to get started:

1. Select an adult to be the renewal processor for Internet Rechartering.
2. From 60 to 45 days before the unit charter expiration date, the renewal processor should gather recharter material.
3. Select First-Time User and enter the unit access code found on your recharter letter from the council.
Or select
Online Tutorial.
4. Select the unit type and enter the unit number.
C=Pack / S=Troop / P=Crew / R=Ship
5. Create a password as instructed.
6. Complete the information requested on each screen. You can stop at any time, log off the system, and begin again where you left off by reentering
your access code and password.

Here’s how to wrap it up:

7. When you’ve completed all the information to recharter the unit, click the Submit button.
8. Print the Unit Charter Renewal Report Package, which includes the charter renewal application and lists of new members, transfers, multiples, and
no-fee adults.  Acquire the appropriate signatures on the application, then take the entire packet along with the new applications and fee payments
to the council office or the district turn-in meeting.

Please remember to add $1.00 for insurance for all paying adults and youth in addition to the national registration fees.
Please have your Unit Charter submitted to the council office or your District Executive no later than the first week of December!
You can use the tutorial now to familiarize yourself with the new program. Call Kaye Tyson, Registrar at 704-982-0141, Ext. 224 or email at
jtyson@bsamail.org if you have any questions.
The Central N.C. Council is excited to offer Internet Rechartering to your unit. We think you’ll love this new method for rechartering, because you’ll be
completing the charter renewal information yourself-which ensures that it will be correct-and you can do it from your home or office, anytime that it’s
convenient for you. It’s a secure, easy-to-use application accessed from the
Central N.C. Council Web site. Be sure to attend training at your
roundtables.
